A leading union says as many as sixty five thousand working families in Essex could have their benefits cut when changes to working tax credits come into effect next April.
That’s the number who currently claim the benefit according to HM Revenue and Customs.
Thurrock constituency has the most claimants in the county with more than six thousand.
Colchester has 5,000 claimants, Chelmsford has3,200, Southend West has 3,100 and Rochford and Southend East has 4,700
The figures have been released by UNISON.
