Cricket- Ryan ten Doeschate`s renewed his contract with Essex.
The limited overs captain will now be staying at the County Ground until the end of the 2017 season, extending a career which began there in 2003.
Ryan told Radio Essex; “I am delighted to be staying at this wonderful club. Essex gave me my chance in County Cricket, and I want more than anything to keep repaying them for their faith with a trophy and promotion.
“We ve underachieved as a group this year and we will be working even harder to improve next year.”
Meanwhile, Jaik Mickelburgh has signed a new contract for next season.
Mickleburgh, 25, made his debut for the County away at Leicestershire in 2008, and has played over 100 times in all formats. He has a highest score of 243, compiled against Leicestershire in 2013.
Mickleburgh told Radio Essex: “The Club is a huge part of my life and I m proud to be playing for this team. We ve got plenty of talent in the dressing room and will be pushing hard for success in 2016.”
