Police were called to an address in Wingate Close in Braintree shortly before 12.25am on Saturday February 6 following reports that ambulance paramedics had found a man dead at the location.
Officers attended and following initial investigation the death was treated as suspicious and two men were arrested.
The deceased is believed to be a man in his early 20s from Witham.
A forensic post-mortem was carried out yesterday afternoon and has ruled out any third party involvement in the death.
Detectives say they are no longer treating it as suspicious and the two men who were arrested have been released without charge.
Police will now be preparing a file for the coroner.
