Plans for a massive new business park at Southend Airport have moved a step closer.
The proposals have been given outline planning permission by Rochford District Council.
The 78,000 sq metre site would include a hotel and a new Anglian Ruskin Medtech campus.
Detailed permission has also been given to build the necessary infrastructure that will help make it a reality.
Work could start as early as this Summer.
It’s also been confirmed that £3.2m has been allocated from the SELEP Local Growth Fund to contribute to the new roundabout and enabling infrastructure to open up the site from Cherry Orchard Way.
In February, planning permission was given to relocate council rugby pitches used by Westcliff Rugby Club (WRC) and outline consent for a new clubhouse and car parking.
