Extra police patrols will continue at Stansted airport over the Easter weekend.
Sniffer dogs will also be working in and around the terminal.
The move is designed to reassure passengers in the wake of the Brussels attacks.
Chief Inspector Jon Hayter told Radio Essex: “Although the threat level remains the same, in the wake of the attacks in Brussels we want to provide reassurance to holiday-makers.
“Sniffer dogs as well as a wide range of officers with specialist skills will be on duty to keep people safe.
“If anyone has any concerns, I d urge them to speak to our officers at the airport who will be happy to help.”
Karen Smart, Customer Service & Security Director for Stansted Airport told us: “The safety and security of passengers and staff will always be our top priority so following recent events at Brussels Airport , and as a precautionary measure, Essex Police presence has been increased at Stansted to provide further reassurance as we continue to closely monitor the situation.”
