A man has been found guilty of raping a woman who he was supposed to be caring for and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
A jury at Chelmsford Crown Court found Michael Ifayin guilty of rape following the offence that took place in Waltham Abbey on Boxing Day 2014.
The court heard that Ifayin, now aged 52, was working as a carer and assaulted his victim inside her own home. He was arrested shortly after the offence but was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
He then failed to answer his bail but was recognised by a member of the piubloic after tv APPEAL.
Ifayin had given false details and had used a fake passport to secure a job with a care agency. He had also given false bank account details.
Ifrayin, who is believed to be Nigerian, will also be deported following his sentence.
