Customers at a Southend pub have had a lucky escape after part of its ceiling collapsed.
The incident happened at The Alex last night.
The pub, in Alexandra Street, is owned by the Stonegate Pub Company and underwent a major refurbishment in January.
@YourSouthend Tweeted: “A number of customers were left covered in debris and dust but nobody appears to have been injured. The whole pub was swiftly evacuated.”
@RainbowSerina Tweeted: “Got evacuated from the recently refurbished local pub because the ceiling fell down.”
