The licence of premises in Loughton has been temporarily suspended by Epping Forest Licensing committee following an expedited review.
The review of Nu Bar in High Road comes after a series of incidents including the assault of a man on Sunday, April 10.
The application made by Essex Police to the Epping Forest Licensing committee was heard this morning, Tuesday April 12 and the licence suspended. The review will take place within 28 days.
Superintendent Trevor Roe said: “We are happy to support the night time economy in the Epping Forest district but when public safety, crime and disorder become an issue, robust steps will be taken to enforce the law around licensing by the licensing officers and the new community policing team based at Loughton.
