A man has been jailed for nearly 14 years for rape and drugs offences and given an extended licence of six years.
Halil Cetinkayali, 30, had used a mobile phone to film himself raping his victim, who was 19 at the time, while she was asleep.
The offence took place sometime between July 2013 and April 2014.
Cetinkayali, of Purley Way, Westcliff, was also charged with being concerned in offering to supply class A drugs, possession of heroin with intent to supply, possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and breaching a restraining order.
He denied all the offences but was found guilty following a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court in July last year.
Sentencing was adjourned for reports to be prepared and he returned to Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday April 8.
He was jailed for eight years for rape; five years and eight months for being concerned in offering to supply class A drugs, to run consecutively; five years and eight months for the other two drugs charges, to run concurrently; and six months for breaching the restraining order, to run concurrently.
He must also serve an extra six years on extended licence.
Investigating officer Pc Carla Thomas, of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team based in Rayleigh, said: “Cetinkayali subjected his victim to a horrendous assault and the trauma of having to give evidence in court.
“She has been extremely brave in reporting this and in supporting the police investigation and subsequent trial.
“The severity of Cetinkayali s actions is reflected in the significant sentence he was handed at court and I hope this will give the victim some closure so that she can move forward.
