A 16-year-old’s been jailed by magistrates in Southend after trying to conceal more than 100 wraps of class A drugs in his body.
The boy, who can t be named, was arrested by officers from Operation Raptor after they executed a search warrant at an address in Jermaynes, Laindon on April 26, 2016.
He was found to be carrying a large amount of cash, two mobile phones and officers suspected he was concealing drugs. However he denied the offence and refused an xray.
Officers were given an extension to keep him in custody and the following day he passed a cling film wrap which was found to contain 73 wraps of crack cocaine and 61 wraps of heroin.
He was charged with possession with intent to supply heroin and possession with intent to supply cocaine and appeared at Basildon Magistrates Court on the morning of April 28, 2016.
The boy pleaded guilty to both offences and was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for each to run concurrently at Southend Magistrates Court.
