Nine officers have been injured and nine people have been arrested following an unlicensed music event in Barking.
Police were called to the Rave on Saturday evening (18 June) after reports of a large number of people gathering at a building on Thames Road.
Officers from a number of surrounding boroughs and the Pan-London Taskforce (the Territorial Support Group and Dog Support Unit) attended the scene and found approximately 1,000 people inside the venue and around 1,000 people outside the venue.
Eight male officers and one female officer – two sergeants, two dog handlers and five police constables – received injuries after missiles were thrown.
Four of the male officers were treated in hospital. Their injuries are not serious and they have since been discharged.
