Detectives are continuing to question a man in connection with the murder of Brian Hurry in Chelmsford.
Mr Hurry was found dead at his home in Bramwoods Road shortly after 5pm on Saturday, June 18.
Police have been granted an extension for a 24-year-old man from Chelmsford, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, to remain in custody for questioning.
A 41-year-old woman from Chelmsford arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail pending further enquiries until June 27.
A 43-year-old man from Chelmsford who was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail has now been released from his bail without charge and faces no further action.
A 20-year-old woman from Chelmsford was arrested yesterday, June 21, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. She has been released on bail until August 23, pending further enquiries.
Senior investigating officer, DCI Martin Pasmore, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information that could assist our investigation, particularly any dog walkers or pedestrians who saw a man and a woman walking in the areas between Meadgate Avenue, the River Chelmer and Asda in Chelmer Village, between 6am and 8.45am on Saturday, June 18.”
