A man has died following a road collision in Hullbridge.
The 84-year-old man from Hullbridge was in collision with a car in Lower Road at around 10.55pm on August 5.
The car failed to stop and was seen to turn right into Hillcrest Avenue.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Addenbrookes hospital by air Ambulance with serious head injuries where he sadly died last night, Wednesday August 10.
Police Constable Heidi Lee at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a serious incident where an elderly man has tragically lost his life.
“I urge anyone with information to come forward.
“Were you in Lower Road before the collision? Do you remember seeing a white Vauxhall Astra with front windscreen damage and the registration of DXZ 3919? Did you see this car being driven that evening?
A 23-year-old man from Rayleigh was arrested in connection with the collision on Saturday, August 6 and has been bailed to December 3 pending further enquiries.
