Police would like to trace Daniel Rogers, 22, who is wanted for offences in Waltham Abbey.
He was arrested in Howard Close, Waltham Abbey, at just after 11am yesterday (Saturday, August 13) after officers were called to a property following a disturbance.
He was arrested after checks found he was wanted in connection with an allegation of theft.
As he was being placed into the police car, Rogers made off from officers. The local area is being searched by officers by on the ground and in the air using the police helicopter.
Rogers is wearing handcuffs and was wearing grey shorts, a polo top, purple socks, and white trainers and has short brown hair.
He would not be able to remove the handcuffs without assistance.
Anybody who knows where he is should dial 999 immediately.
Ds Mick Orr, who is leading the hunt to find him, said: “We know he has links to Chigwell and Waltham Abbey and have checked addresses to find him. I would like to remind people that it is an offence to assist an offender and anybody offering this man help to remove the handcuffs could be leaving themselves open to prosecution.”
The theft offence relates to an incident which happened on Wednesday, May 11 in Victoria Road, Waltham Abbey.
A lost bank card was used in several stores in Waltham Abbey to pay for items totalling around £180.
