Stansted Airport’s had its busiest month for nine years.
Nearly 2 point 5 million people went through the Essex terminal in August.
Officials say that equates to an average of over 80,000 passengers a day.
Stansted Airport’s CEO, Andrew Cowan, said:
“Growth was primarily driven by increased traffic to holiday hotspots in Spain, Portugal, Greece and USA as well as the growing popularity of destination in the likes of Bulgaria and Croatia.
The number of passengers on each aircraft also remained strong with over 93% of all available seats occupied on each flight.”
