Yesterday was the hottest September day since 1911.
The Esesx Weather Centre says temperatures in Writtle reached 32C and in Barking the mercury hit 33C.
Gravesend in Kent was highest at 34.4C and also making it the hottest day of the year!
Forecasters say another hot day is on the way with unbroken sunshine and light winds. Highs of 31C inland and 27C along the Coast.
