A man and woman in their eighties have needed treatment for the effects of breathing in smoke after a fire at their house in Hadleigh.
Crews were called to the property on Thorrington Avenue yesterday.
An investigation`s now underway into the cause of the blaze which started in the roof.
Assistant Divisional Officer Paul Chipperfield, Incident Commander, said: “There is a lot of damage to the property and the roof has been completely destroyed by the fire.
“Our crews did a fantastic job in preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties while surrounded by potential risks from both the property’s gas and electricity supplies.”
