Join in the I Spy fun with Visit Colchester’s new Instagram competition ‘I Spy Seven Wonders’.
Running until the end of June, Visit Colchester is inviting residents and tourists to share their favourite ‘Seven Wonders of Colchester’ in return for the chance to win luxury prizes.
Colchester has much to offer both tourists and residents alike, and this competition is aimed at individuals sharing memories of great days out and experiences of Colchester. It’s easy to enter – simply snap or upload an existing image to Instagram ensuring it fits into one of the Seven Wonders categories and tag @VisitColchester along with the hashtag #ispycolchester7. Entrants must also like VisitColchester’s Instagram page to be entered into the prize draw.
Colchester’s Seven Wonders is part of the fun and interactive social media campaign that Visit Colchester is currently running, which is based on the well known concept of I Spy. I Spy recognizes the great tourism offering that Colchester has, and aims to raise the profile of Britain’s oldest recorded town and the wonderful attractions that Colchester has to offer.
To help guide players, Visit Colchester will be posting and sharing #ispycolchester7 examples over the next few months. From sampling afternoon tea at a luxury hotel to boating in the countryside, Visit Colchester wants to be part of people’s memories of Colchester.
Cllr Tim Young, Deputy Leader of Colchester Borough and Portfolio Holder for Culture and Regeneration, said: “This competition is a wonderful way to get to know the ‘real’ Colchester. We all know what Colchester’s main tourist attractions are, but this competition is designed to find what the Borough’s hidden gems are. From favourite things to do on a lazy Sunday morning, to the best cream tea – I can’t wait to see what the competition unveils. Colchester has a rich and diverse culture and this competition will help spread the word about the town and encourage more visitors to come and sample what the town has to offer.”
