Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a sub post office in Cressing.
Essex Police were contacted at just before 12.30pm on Tuesday February 21 following reports that a sub post office in Evelyn Wood Road had been robbed.
Two men entered the store, one of whom was armed with a gun, and demanded the staff hand over cash from the till.
The suspects then fled the scene on foot. Police, supported by the helicopter, carried out a search of the area and officers remain at the scene.
The man who had the firearm is described as white, wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark coloured bottoms. His accomplice is described as white, older and taller than the first man, possibly aged in his mid 30s and wore a grey hoodie.
Acting Det Insp Ed Mayo of the Essex and Kent Serious Crime Directorate said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the robbery or in the moments leading up to it who may have seen anything suspicious.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have captured the incident or the suspects on Dash Cams or mobile phones.”
Witnesses to the robbery or anyone with information can contact Essex Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
