A man has pleaded guilty to a number of offences following a police pursuit in Chelmsford.
Officers were called to reports that a stolen silver Ford Mondeo Estate was spotted travelling along the A130, in Canvey, at around 9.40am yesterday, Wednesday, March 1.
The vehicle was reported stolen from Hainault Grove, Chelmsford, at around 11pm on Tuesday, February 28.
Police signalled the car to pull over but it failed to stop. There was then a police pursuit along the A130 towards Howe Green roundabout and through Chelmsford.
The pursuit ended in Epping Close at around 10.10am with police forcing the vehicle to stop.
Steven Lumb, 38, of Sanders Road, Canvey Island, was arrested and charged with a number of offences.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ court on March 2 and pleaded guilty to excess alcohol, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving with no insurance and driving with no licence.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 30.
