Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a woman and baby in Brentwood.
Police and the ambulance service were contacted at around 3.20pm on Sunday March 12 with concerns for the welfare of a 36-year-old woman and her two-month-old son at an address in Wellesley Road.
Sadly they were both pronounced dead at the scene.
They have now been formally identified as Nadine Loveman and her son Steven Loveman, of Wellesley Road, Brentwood.
Forensic post mortem examinations have been completed but were inconclusive. Further tests will now be carried out.
The deaths of Nadine and Steven continued to be treated as unexplained.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the sequence of events that led to their deaths.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Stuart Truss said: “This is a clearly distressing incident for all involved.
“We are working closely with Nadine and Steven’s family in order to try and establish what may have happened over that weekend. We ask that the family’s privacy is respected during this difficult time.”
