A Southend charity has come up with a novel way for people to get rid of their old five pound notes – and help people at the same time.
The previous style fivers have been replaced by a new polymer note – and are no longer legal tender.
HARP – which helps homeless people – is urging anyone to drop them in as a donation – instead of taking them to banks or the post office.
To pass your old fivers on to Harp, post them to: 4th Floor, Dencora Court, Tylers Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, SS1 2BB.
Alternatively drop them in to HARP shops on the London Road and Hamlet Court Road in Westcliff.
