A Chelmsford man’s been jailed for life for murdering his step-grandfather in Galleywood.
Michael McDonald had previously admitted manslaughter in connection to the death of Brian Hurry, but a jury found him guilty of murder on Friday.
McDonald attacked the 78 year old with a metal bar after seeing his mother Terri having sex with Mr Hurry her father-in-law last June.
He’ll serve a minimum of 17 years in prison, while Terri Hurry has been sentenced to three and a half years for helping to destroy evidence.
McDonald’s girlfriend Anna Blackwell has been given a suspended sentence for giving a false alibi.
