A man has been jailed for three years for setting on fire and destroying a mobile police station in Southend.
The station had been put in place on York Road on Saturday, October 29 to provide public reassurance in response to a number of incidents in the area.
The vehicle was set on fire and damaged to the extent that it could not be repaired.
On CCTV, a man was seen setting a light a bag of rubbish, placing it underneath the vehicle and then walking away with a white Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
46-year-old Dwayne Curtis was seen by police at around 6:50pm on the same day, wearing the same clothes as at the time of the arson and was arrested on suspicion of arson.
