Big Business Events
Are you interested in starting your own business? Would you like the chance to be your own boss and make your own decisions? Does your confidence need a boost? Is your career stuck in a rut?
Radio Essex is starting a brand new and unique series of insights into the world of business with our very own, award-winning, millionaire entrepreneur, Adam Stott, a born and bred Essex businessman who started from very humble beginnings before making it BIG.
With the theme ‘How to Make it Big in Business’, each month Adam will be interviewing successful business people from Essex and across the UK who’ve made it BIG by their determination and hard work, tackling setbacks, rejection and failure along the way.
By watching the series of short videos hosted by Adam, viewers will be able to take away a host of practical tips and listen to inspirational stories, as well as learning how Adam and his interviewees have overcome challenges in building their own successful companies.
So who is our business guru, Adam Stott?
34-year old Adam was voted one of the UK’s most innovative entrepreneurs at the 2016 Amazon Growing Business Awards, supported by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). His company,
Big Cars, is the UK’s fastest growing used car dealer and it was also voted one of the London Stock Exchange’s ‘Top 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain’, in both 2015 and 2016. Adam started it in 2008 from the spare bedroom of his mum’s house and it now has a turnover of £40 million per year with dealerships in Chelmsford, Witham, Sudbury and also in Surrey.
Adam’s flair for business and entrepreneurial spirit has propelled him forward to become an international speaker on business, a best-selling author on Amazon and coach to a growing number of business owners. He established ‘Big Business Events’ in 2016 with former BBC TV ‘Apprentice’ winner, Lee McQueen, to help aspiring business owners, as well as established businesses seeking support for growth.
Commenting on the new partnership with Radio Essex, Adam said:
“I’m really looking forward to this unique initiative with Radio Essex. Our county is a business powerhouse with hundreds of new businesses launching every year, which is crucial to the prosperity of both Essex and the UK as a whole. I’ll be interviewing business owners from a huge range of industries who’ve started small and made it BIG and they’ll be sharing their stories and giving Radio Essex listeners some fantastic advice and inspiration. Whatever the stage of your career, there’ll be something of value for you, so please stay tuned!”
On this week’s Wealth Life TV, Adam travelled into London to meet with Sean Pulfrey, who was rejected from Dragons’ Den with the Tangle Teezer 9 years ago – now it’s worth £200m.
Sean talks about how not giving up after being mocked by the Dragons, and some clever personal branding landed him a £200m global business. His story truly is inspirational for every aspiring entrepreneur our there!
