Work’s underway on a £10.7 million assisted living complex in Harwich following a ground breaking ceremony.
It’s being built on the former site of Harwich Hospital.
There’ll be 58 flats for the elderly; a lounge, a restaurant and a spa as well as 12 apartments for adults with learning difficulties.
The work is expected to be completed in 2016.
The project, supported by grant funding from Essex County Council, is being delivered by Ashley House plc and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016.
Cllr Malcolm Maddocks, Essex County Council s Deputy Cabinet Member for Adults and Children, marked the start of the works by putting the first spade in the ground at a ground breaking ceremony.
