Firefighters have rescued a Harris Hawk which had escaped from her owner and become trapped on a TV aerial on the roof of a house.
They climbed up a ladder and were able to grab the bird of prey, release it and deliver it safely back to its owner.
Leading Firefighter Andy barber said: “The owner had been training the hawk, which is called Lilo, and she got away from him and landed on a neighbour’s TV aerial. We got a ladder up to the aerial and two firefighters, Rick Jones and Simon Say, climbed up and got her down.
“She is a very well trained Hawk, she barely made any fuss at all and certainly didn’t try to bite or scratch either of them. We were all pleased to get her safely down and reunite her with her grateful owner.”
