Police have named the teenage pedestrian killed on the A127 at Basildon.
13 year old Joseph Sheridan was involved in a collision with a BMW on the Southend-bound carriageway on Monday night (February 15.)
His death led to a five hour blockade on both carriageways last night – reportedly by Travellers angry there’s no footbridge over the 70 mile an hour stretch of road.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened by to the junction of Oak Lane.
They would also like to hear from any drivers who were in the area at the time who had dashboard cameras fitted to their vehicles, which may have captured footage of events leading up to the collision.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed, pending further enquiries.

There was an angry reaction on social media from motorists forced to sit in the freezing cold.
Many were also unhappy at the police response.
