Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was discovered in a fire-damaged car in Basildon.
Officers were called shortly before 5pm on Saturday (February 27) after the 30-year-old man’s body was found in a grey Audi A4 which was parked in Pincey Mead near Pitsea Road.
The enquiry has now become a murder investigation and police urgently need information from members of the public.
The incident happened in a residential neighbourhood so police are hopeful someone will have seen or heard something.
The vehicle has internal fire damage and officers are keen to speak to anyone who might have seen the vehicle or spotted anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
