Arsonists have been targetting cars in Chelmsford.
Fire crews were called to five incidents last night.
The first incident involving two cars on fire was received at 19:49hrs in Saint Nazaire Road (incident 3501). One engine from Chelmsford was sent and the crew used one hose reel jet.
Chelmsford’s second engine was then sent to Tugby Place (incident 3503) at 20:08hrs where one car was on fire. The crew used one hose reel jet to extinguish that fire by 20:22hrs.
The same crew was then sent to a car alight in Flintwich Manor (incident 3504) at 20:24hrs. One hose reel jet was used to extinguish this fire by 20:50hrs.
Chelmsford first engine was then sent to a car alight in Drood Close (incident 3506) at 20:39hrs and one hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire by 20:51hrs.
In each incident, the cars were 100% alight. Police have been in attendance at each incident scene.
