An officer with Essex Police has been sacked for gross misconduct.
A panel chaired by Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh found that Pc 76487 Scott Goody breached standards of professional behaviour in terms of discreditable conduct and dismissed him without notice.
The hearing was told Pc Goody, who was based at Loughton had attended at a domestic incident in the west of Essex in August 2015.
He subsequently sent inappropriate text messages to the alleged victim and engaged in social media contact with them with the intention of meeting them in a private capacity.
Pc Goody was dismissed after a disciplinary hearing at Basildon Magistrates and Family Court.
His name will also be added to the national disapproved register, preventing him from ever working as a police officer again.
