Travellers who are on land at Holland Marshes and in Walton have each been issued with a Direction to Leave by the Essex Countywide Traveller Unit (ECTU).
The vehicles have been occupying various sites along the marshes and in the Tendring District Council (TDC) owned car park at Frinton and Walton Lifestyles.
If the travellers do not comply with the order to leave, a date will be arranged with the County Court in Chelmsford to serve a summons.
Elsewhere in the district six caravans have pitched on to Martello Coach Park in Clacton overnight.
Tendring District Council (TDC) officers have visited the site this morning and spoken to the travellers who have indicated they would be happy to move to a site which allows commercial vehicles.
Details of all the vehicles have been sent to the Essex Countywide Traveller Unit so that paperwork can be prepared for a Direction to Leave order to be issued.
Paul Honeywood, TDC s Cabinet Member for Housing said he was pleased with the prompt action taken by all officers involved.
I d like to thank all officers who have responded quickly and are ensuring the legal process we are required to follow is undertaken as soon as possible.
