A man who robbed a business of a four figure sum of cash has been jailed for eight years.
Three men armed with a knife demanded cash from staff at Friars Pride on the Burnt Mills Industrial Estate in Basildon on April 2, 2015.
They left the scene in a Vauxhall Vectra, which was later found set alight in Bradley Green.
Witnesses reported seeing the occupants get into a Vauxhall Zafira, which was found to belong to Kurtis Lynch, 32.
Lynch, who took the cash from the safe and drove the Zafira, was arrested the following day on suspicion of robbery and later charged.
Lynch, unemployed, of Primula Court, Basildon, denied the charge but was convicted at Basildon Crown Court yesterday, Tuesday July 12, following a five day trial.
He was sentenced the same day to eight years in prison.
