A serious road traffic collision happened on Limebrook Way, Maldon just before 12.30pm yesterday afternoon and involved a black Mini and a black Vauxhall Mokka.
A five-year-old boy from the Mokka has been airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with serious head injuries while the male driver of the car has been taken by ambulance to Chelmsford’s Broomfield Hospital.
A woman in her 20s from the Mini was airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries while another woman from the car was taken by ambulance to Broomfield Hospital with less serious injuries.
Officers are aware that some motorists, who were likely to have witnessed the collision, may have continued on with their journeys and not stopped. Police are appealing for these people and any other witnesses to contact their Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
