Essex Traffic Control Centre (ETCC) is reminding road users to avoid probable congestion in the Chelmsford area this weekend as the V Festival comes to Hylands Park.
The longest delays are likely today (Friday, 19th August) and on Monday (22nd August) as thousands of festival-goers arrive and leave the venue.
Roads surrounding Hylands Park and in the local area will be closed at certain times.
In particular, Three Mile Hill/A414 will be closed from 9pm on Saturday, 20 August until 5am on Sunday, 21 August, and again from 9pm on Sunday until 4pm on Monday, 22 August.
A locally signed, temporary 30mph speed limit will also be in place from 6pm on Thursday, 18 August until 8pm on Monday, 22 August to maintain road safety.
ETCC staff will remain at their County Hall posts throughout the long festival weekend. They will monitor traffic and can deploy strategically placed temporary signals to minimise congestion, if required.
Radio Essex will have regular traffic updates throughout the weekend.
