Police are appealing for witnesses after an officer was injured in Rayleigh.
The officer had stopped a black VW Golf on London Road after checks indicated it had previously been stolen.
The driver got out of the vehicle before getting back inside and driving off, trapping the officer’s arm in the door and running over his foot.
The officer was left with minor injuries to his wrist and elbow.
The driver is described as white, over 6ft tall, in his 40s, with a shaved head and wearing glasses.
