Kick starting the Christmas countdown, The Meadows in Chelmsford invited giant elves to spread some festive cheer around the centre last weekend, offering candy canes and chocolate coins to customers and their families during their shopping trips to Chelmsford, and finding out if children have been naughty or nice using a special app.
The city centre was bustling with visitors starting their Christmas shopping, and the giant elves at the Meadows brought smiles and fun to what can be a stressful time with their random giveaways and cheeky elfie selfies. Some lucky shoppers even managed to get their hands on one of the limited edition complimentary tote bags that were also that were being given out to visitors.
Elf Adam says “We’re here to make The Meadows customers smile this Christmas! We’ll put a smile on the kids faces, and help you carry your bags to the car – and we might even have some more treats to share over the next two weekends!”
The centres’ charity partner for the holiday season, Hamelin Trust, provided a great extra service to shoppers over the weekend by gift wrapping customers presents for a small donation. During the next two weeks, volunteers from the charity will be at The Meadows at the weekends offering this same service to those whose wrapping skills are lacking, and also offering a range of activities to get involved in, including interactive games for both children and adults.
For those who missed all the fun and games last weekend, the giant elves will be back at The Meadows this weekend, 10th and 11th December, as well as 17th and 18th December.
