Tributes have been paid to a man who died in Jaywick on New Year’s Day.
Police were called by the ambulance service just after 6.40am on Sunday, January 1 with reports a man was unconscious at an address in Bentley Avenue.
Sadly he died at the scene.
Police can identify the man as Anthony Cansdale, 40, of Clacton-on-Sea.
His family said: “Tony was a well-liked and fun-loving person, who lived life to the full.
“He was loved by his family and friends and we will all miss him dearly.”
It is believed Mr Cansdale had been assaulted earlier in the evening and his death is being treated as suspicious. A post mortem examination was carried out yesterday, Monday January 2, and the cause of his death was inconclusive. Further tests will be carried out.
A 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, both from Clacton, were arrested on suspicion of murder.
They have been released on bail until March 28, pending further enquiries.
