Essex Police is working with communities across the county to make sure everyone stays safe over Halloween and Bonfire Night.
The force says it’s taking a robust approach to troublemakers – particularly those targeting elderly or vulnerable people.
The advice for trick or treaters remains to only visit people you know – and for an adult to accompany children.
Shopkeepers will also be visited by police to discuss underage purchasing of fireworks.
A spokesman says they want everyone to have fun – but to also recognise the line between enjoyment and crime.
