Essex Book Festival launched this week ahead of the event in March.
More than two hundred authors, poets, musicians, dramatists, filmmakers, journalists and artists, will descend on forty venues across the county in a couple of months.
Singer Billy Bragg will get things underway at Anglia Ruskin University and events will include a Golden Age Crime Weekend in Southend and a Science and Invention Hub in Chelmsford.
Radio Essex was invited to the opening in Southend on Thursday, and reporter Georgina Baxter was lucky enough to speak with Essex author Syd Moore about the Essex Girl stereotype, witches – and how you can find a connection between the two. Listen to the interview below.
You can also find a video on our Facebook and Twitter, of Syd reading an excerpt of Strange Magic: An Essex Witch Museum Mystery.
