Campaigners opposing changes to critical medical services in South Essex have condemned the latest plans delivered by the NHS.
Save Southend NHS met with senior managers last week – to discuss the proposed shift of stroke and emergency orthopaedic surgery services from the town’s hospital to Basildon or Broomfield.
A spokesperson says despite consistently being asked about the finer details – they failed to appease their concerns.
The group’s also described transport plans as “meaningless”.
The NHS says the moves are vital to plug a half a billion pound funding gap.
