Southend Borough Council’s discussing the future of an iconic building in Westcliff today.
The Havens Store could be transformed.
The shop is closing down after 98 years on the Hamlet Court Road – with the business going online only.
Now – Age Concern want to turn the ground and first floors into an over 50s community hub – which would include meeting rooms, a cafe and sports facilities.
Havens would retain offices on the second floor.
The council’s Development Control Committee will debate the proposals this afternoon.
