Essex Police says there are “no excuses” for carrying a knife – after a girl was found guilty of slashing a teenager in the face in Colchester.
The 16-year-old was attacked by the girl at the lift on Vineyard Street in June – she used a stanley knife to cut her nose and forehead.
The victim’s received life-long scars as a result.
The 14-year-old defendant – who can’t be named – was found guilty of causing grevious bodily harm with intent – and will be sentenced next month.
A police spokesperson says young people have to understand the consequences of having a weapon in public.
