And finally the best kept front gardens at homes in Chelmsford have been honoured.
A ceremony took place last night for the winners and runners-up of the Blooming Beautiful Chelmsford Competition.
They’ll get gift vouchers and plants from a local garden centre as prizes.

Jill Taylor, St Margaret’s Road, Chelmsford won the Best Kept Garden category with a beautiful array of pansies, magnolias and hydrangeas.
Second place went to Mick Lilley in Finchley Avenue, Chelmsford and third place to Christel James, West Belvedere, Chelmsford.
The winner of Most Sustainable Front Garden was Betty Stevens, Woodham Ferrers. Betty’s garden contains a variety of hedges and well matured trees and needs little maintenance. Second place went to Judith Loman, Carruthers Drive and third place to Rachael Bailey-Gibson, Fraser Close.
The winner of the Best Planter category was Malcolm Roe from Plane Tree Close. Malcolm’s front garden contains double trailing petunia topped with bush Lobelia, trailing Pelagonium and Geraniums.
Second place went to Richard Lockwood and Joan Pilgrim from Travistock Road, Springfield and third place went to Monica, Wilshire Avenue, Chelmsford.
