The NSPCC’s continuing to crack down on adults conducting sexual crimes online in Essex.
The charity says in the first year of a new offence of Sexual Communication with a child being introduced – 60 offences were recorded in the county.
Now a survey’s revealed around one in 20 children in the East of England have received a naked or semi-naked image from an adult.
Youngsters as young as nine have been approached on gaming sites – while others reported being sent explicit content by coaches or other people they already knew.
The NSPCC is continuing to campaign for the Government to increase pressure on social media networks to detect grooming.
