Essex Highways says it’s not putting a date on when the Army and Navy Flyover in Chelmsford could reopen.
The road which reduces congestion in and out of the city on Parkway – has been shut as a safety precaution since early September.
It was also closed for maintenance earlier in the summer – which the County Council insists was planned.
Now – two weeks of assessments will take place – as engineers try to determine if subsequent actions are required.
It’s also understood that persistent high temperatures over the summer may have led to the problems.
