Two men have been jailed after a man died during a robbery in Hullbridge
Tim Smith and his wife spent the evening at a pub with another family they knew and drove to their friends bungalow on The Drive where Andrew McVicar and Colin Garrod were armed and waiting for them.
One of the men pushed Mr Smith in the back, causing him to fall and hit his head on a brick wall – he later died in hospital
The pair escaped the property with a holdall containing £50,000.
They were given a life sentence each with 12 years in prison.
